Since 2015, Manipur’s MSME units have expanded from 1,085 to 34,293 units, according to Commerce, Textile and Industries Minister Nemcha Kipgen.
She stressed the expansion of MSME units in the State and said Manipur is striving towards industrialisation during a meeting on “Framing of Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (IIPPM)-2022” at the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM).
She advocated for an effective industrial and investment policy to help the state’s economy grow.
“An efficient industry and investment policy is the necessity of the hour to attract investment and stimulate vigorous economic activity for industrial growth in the state,” Minister Kipgen stated.
The industry minister expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for entrusting her with the task of making Manipur a centre for the country’s future trade and commerce with neighbouring states and countries.
